課程目標 |
To explore with students some of the practical aspects of client representation, in a reflective and engaging classroom setting. |

課程要求 |
Following are the requirements of this course:
1. Do the reading before class and be prepared to talk in every class;
2. Participate enthusiastically in the discussion and exercises in every class
3. Complete all assignments throughout the semester, which includes but not limited to the following:
a. Journals
After selected classes, you will be asked to write a short 2-3 page journal entry reflecting on the subject of that class. The journals should demonstrate that you are thinking not just about technical elements of client representation but about theoretical, ethical and moral issues. The journals are due on the last day of class, but I will be happy to review them during the semester to give you feedback.
b. Videotaped Assignments
There will be three videotaped assignments in this course: one for the interviewing section, one for the counseling section and a final project incorporating interviewing, counseling and negotiation. Each of these should be recorded in a digital format and submitted to me electronically by the due date. In addition to playing the role of attorney in each of these, for two of them you will also be asked to play the role of client for your classmate. |
